Protecting concrete usually means shielding it from the elements of nature or from harsh manmade chemicals. But it’s not just concrete that needs such protection. Corrugated metal pipe, steel surfaces, material hoppers, rail cars and masonry all can come in contact with corrosive or abrasive materials or harsh conditions.
The geotechnical needs of DOTs and other agencies responsible for roads and bridges are vast. Issues include: Culvert repair Soil stabilization Void filling Concrete slab lifting Sinkhole remediation Slope control Slough control in tunneling
Phase two of an industrial pit project is under way. Over 26,500 gallons of a specialized long pot life, low exotherm, epoxy (Prime Rez 1450) will be used to fill the gap ranging from 2" to 6" under the floor and around each wall. Each phase has 4 tanks that are 15' H x 15' W x 30+- L each.
Phase one was completed in February, 2022 and phase 2 started this week. Prime Resins supplied materials as well as technical guidance and support during design and installation to ensure project success. We'll have more to come later on this unique project that is two years in the making. It started as a simple crack injection help request from the owner.
