Locate the leaking pipe joint by observing the pothole in roadway and by measuring the distance from the manhole to the joint.
Place a remote TV camera in the pipe (place it upstream to keep polyurethane from getting on your camera). Be ready to water jet the pipe clear if any cured material builds up inside.
Drive (or jet) a pipe on either side of the pipe at the leaking joint. You may need to drill through the pavement if the joint is below a roadway.
Inject approximately one gallon of Prime-Flex 920 (with about
5% catalyst) or 1 gallon of Hydro Gel SX (plus 8-10 parts water)
into the first pipe. Check to see if this sealed the joint. If
not, repeat this procedure through the second pipe. Quantities
of material will vary depending on size of pipe and size of void.
Remove the pipes as quickly as possible to avoid sealing the
pipe in the ground. Repeat step 4 at one to two feet below the
pavement to stabilize the soil below the roadway.
