'Tis the Season to Think Leak Repair
During the cold winter months, temperatures drop causing
concrete to contract and cracks are usually inevitable. Untreated
cracks can be
particularly damaging in the winter, during freeze-thaw cycles.
When water gets into the cracks and freezes, it expands, causing
the cracks to worsen. Once the spring weather starts to warm
things up, the concrete will expand and leaks become apparent.
We have the solution for leaks caused by this type of situation.
Our Prime-Flex polyurethane grouts can be used to repair leaks
quickly and permanently. Prime-Flex chemical grouts are designed
for manhole, sewer pipe and lateral grouting. For more information
about our line of low-viscosity, hydrophilic and hydrophobic
grouts, visit http://www.primeresins.com/products/primeflex/index.php.

Another Successful Contractors Training Class!
We
had a successful turn-out for our latest Contractors Training
class, held at our office headquarters in Conyers, GA on December
11 and 12. Participants learned the science behind our polyurethane
grouts and received hands-on experience repairing leaks with
Prime-Flex 900LVSF and stabilizing soil with Prime-Flex 910.
After completing the two-day training, each participant received
a certificate and a coupon for $250 off any Prime Resins product.
Our next Contractors Training class will be held
in Conyers, GA, March 5 and 6, 2007. Register
soon; spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

NEW...Bridge Abutment Video Demonstrating Soil Stabilization
In August of this year, Prime-Flex 985 was used to stabilize
a bridge abutment in Rockmart, GA. Barton Southern Company,
Inc. utilized approximately 80 gallons of Prime-Flex 985 to
fill a void that had been created underneath the bridge due
to erosion. Prime-Flex
985 is a two-component urethane resin that produces a
strong, rigid foam. Typical applications include filling wet
voids, under-slab sealing, and filling abandoned pipelines
and storage tanks.

Case-Study-of-the-Month: Repairs to Historic Church
in Florida
The First Presbyterian Church is the oldest building in Tallahassee,
Florida still being used for its original purpose. It is stucco
over brick and was built in 1836. Today it is on the National
Register of Historic Places. Because brick manufacturing in
the nineteenth century was an inexact science, the bricks
came in three flavors: under-fired, over-fired and fired-just-right.
About a hundred and fifty years later, the brick and stucco
began to de-laminate and the stucco absorbed a great deal
of moisture. The cost to have the church painted every five
years became prohibitive. The church committee contacted Jim
Roach, a Gainesville, Florida architect whose area of expertise
is historical restoration. Roach determined that epoxy resin
would solve the de-lamination problem. When a member of the
congregation asked how long the epoxy would last, Roach responded
that no one has lived that long yet.
